Becky Bodish
Program Manager, since 2019
Becky comes to Four Mounds after 20+ years in education. She is passionate about helping youth discover their potential and empowering them to take charge of their futures. She loves curriculum and program development and is excited to be a part of the Four Mounds team.
Jill Courtney
Executive Director, since 2018
Jill comes to Four Mounds with over 20 years of experience in marketing, advertising, graphic design, sales, relationship building, and event management. She is motivated to engage volunteers, strengthen and build relationships with friends, current and new, and is passionate about educating youth and making a difference. The Four Mounds story is amazing and she is excited to share it with the community.
Terry Frost
HEART Job Coach, since 2022
Terry joined the Four Mounds team in 2022 as a Job Coach in our youth HEART program. Terry is people-focused, task-oriented, and brings a truly joyful disposition to the job site daily. He has excellent problem-solving skills and a genuine love for working with youth. Terry also has more than 20 years of experience in home remodeling bringing the necessary skills to complete our home renovation projects from beginning to end. Most importantly, Terry’s passion, work ethic, and flexibility increase his impact as a role model for youth and young adults.
Linda King
Office Administrator, since 2022
Linda comes to Four Mounds with almost 30 years’ experience in administrative and financial work. She is motivated to apply her knowledge where needed in order to streamline processes and increase efficiencies for the foundation. Linda finds the Four Mounds story fascinating and is excited to be a part of such a diverse team.
Joy Mayne
HEART Job Coach, since 2021
Joy brings nearly 20 years of carpentry experience through home restoration and renovation and other entrepreneurial enterprises over the years. She works with her team of students on grounds, building maintenance, and also assists on our youth home restoration sites. Joy naturally meets students where they are and teaches the fine art of carpentry in ways that engage them in meaningful, hands-on learning.
John McAuliffe
HEART Job Coach, since 2023
John came to Four Mounds with more than 30 years of construction experience. His experience ranges from extensive concrete work and worked in the building and trades. He has done work in residential, agricultural, industrial and commercial construction. John is proud to serve in the community as a volunteer at St. Mark Youth Enrichment and many other organizations. John is eager and willing to share his experience and knowledge to help educate young people in getting them work with in the community.
Dee McNamer
Guest Relations Coordinator, since 2022
Dee brings 30 years of experience in hospitality to Four Mounds. She is excited to be a part of a foundation that supports the community, and she enjoys sharing the charming historic property with guests and visitors.
Nate Peterson
Project Manager, since 2019
Nate comes to Four Mounds and the HEART program with years of experience in new construction, rehabilitation, and restoration. With five years of experience working with teens as the youth pastor in his church, he brings positive energy to Four Mounds and the job site. Nate enjoys sharing the successes and growth of HEART students throughout the year.
Jay Potter
Conservation Manager, since 1999
Jay grew up across the road and has been coming up to Four Mounds since he was child, and was known to have even sat in on a board meeting at age 13. He has an inherent interest of history, ecology and preservation. He loves nothing more than to perform research for projects and challenges as needs arise.

John Gronen
President
Grandson of the Four Mounds’ original donors to the City, John has a long passion and institutional memory for Four Mounds, helping to form the organization back in 1987. John and his wife, Mary built their own restoration and development company, Gronen, as they concurrently worked to restore Four Mounds and build the foundation.
Mary Mulgrew Gronen
Vice President
Mary has served Four Mounds Foundation nearly since its start as a volunteer and soon after as a board member in 1995. Mary is Vice President at Gronen.
Renee Hesselman, CPA
Treasurer
Renee, partner at Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C., brings experience in tax, accounting, payroll, business valuation, management advisory and strategic planning. Renee has served Four Mounds since 2008.
Ben Bartels
At-large Member
Ben is an attorney at Reynolds & Kenline, L.L.P. He practices primarily in the area of criminal defense, and is also an assistant professor in the Criminal Justice department at the University of Dubuque.. Ben has served as counsel for our board since 2016.

Natalia Blaskovich
At-large Member
Natalia serves as Judicial Magistrate for the Iowa Judicial Branch. She has presented continuing legal education on domestic violence for attorneys, members of the judiciary, and the community. Natalia was welcomed to the Board in 2019.
David Resnick
City of Dubuque’s Appointed Representative
David serves as one of Dubuque’s at-large city council members. He has been the liaison between Four Mounds and the City since 2016.

Seth Sample of the Four Mounds Ropes Course
For over 25 years, we’ve had an premier Challenge Ropes Course due to our private/public partnership with Team Building Blocks. Seth Sample owns the business and is the course director. Seth also has a tree doctor business, Full Circle Restoration, and volunteers his time helping us manage the health of our stand of trees. Winter Farmer’s Market
Danielle Stowell, Market Manager, owns and operates Wicked River Event Production, a local small business specializing in providing clients with logistical event management. Danielle is co-founder of Millwork Night Market, an independent evening farmers market featuring local food producers, artists, musicians, food trucks, and brewers. She holds a BA from Loras College and an MBA from Clarke University. A local foods enthusiast and arts advocate, Danielle has been a Winter Farmer’s Market volunteer since 2011.
